The application process for all Falmouth MAT schools is exactly the same.
You can apply online for a school place via School Admissions at
If your child was born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015 you will need to apply for a school reception place for September 2019. The deadline for applications was 15 January 2019.
If your child is currently in year six of a junior or primary school, you will need to apply for a place in year seven in a secondary school for September 2019. The deadline for applications was 31 October 2018.

Deferred/Delayed Admission to Reception Year
The majority of children start school full-time in the September following their fourth birthday. However, in some cases parents believe that starting part-time or starting later in the school year would be more appropriate for their child, particularly where their child was born prematurely and would otherwise have been due to start school a year later.
Parents can speak to the Family Information Service on 0800 587 8191 for advice and request a meeting with the head of the school where they have been allocated, or are hoping to gain, a place.
We may then request that you put in writing for the attention of the Head Teacher your reasons for wishing to defer the place and you will receive a response within 30 working days.
The Appeals Process
In accordance with the Admissions Code 2014, you have the right to appeal for any of the schools where you have been refused a place. When you are refused a place at a Falmouth Multi Academy Trust school, you will be sent details by Cornwall Council Admissions department on how to appeal if you wish to, and the deadlines and relevant timescales for this process.
If you have decided to appeal a Falmouth MAT Appeals Form will need to be completed and returned to the school. This is then passed onto the independent Schools Admissions’ Appeals Panel.
A decision by an appeal panel whether or not to offer a school place is binding on the admission authority. If your appeal is unsuccessful, you may not appeal again for the same school within the same academic year unless there has been a change of address or significant material change in your circumstances.
It is important to note that where the admission of your child has been refused because to agree admissions would mean an infant class size exceeding 30, you may appeal against this decision but the grounds on which your appeal can be dealt with are limited.

Most students will apply during Year 11. Falmouth School students will apply through the Falmouth Futures programme.
Students from other schools can apply by completing an application form. All applications will be acknowledged and will be followed by a meeting to discuss the detail of your options.
